Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By oath of those which carry away while dispersing. 1 And those that lift and bear away heavy weights; 2 And those who move (on the water) gently, 3 And the angels who distribute the affair. 4 Indeed, what you are promised is true. 5 And lo! the judgment will indeed befall. 6 By the beautiful heavens, 7 surely you are at variance (about the Hereafter); 8 perverted in his views thereon is he who would deceive himself! 9 Death to those whose opinions are merely baseless conjectures. 10 Who are within a flood [of confusion] and heedless. 11 They ask, “When will be the Day of Judgement?” 12 The day they will be burnt in the Fire, 13 (And told:) "Taste your punishment. This is what you were trying to hasten." 14 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs (in the Paradise), 15 Accepting what their Lord has given them. Indeed, they were before that doers of good. 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 and at dawn would ask forgiveness, 18 and [would assign] in all that they possessed a due share unto such as might ask [for help] and such as might suffer privation. 19 And on the earth are signs for those who have Faith with certainty, 20 there are signs for firm believers. Do you not see then? 21 And in the heaven is your sustenance and what you are threatened with. 22 So, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, this is certainly true, as true as the fact of your speaking. 23
