Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

The craving for ever-greater worldly gains and to excel others in that regard keeps you occupied 1 until you go down to your graves. 2 No! You are going to know. 3 nay, again, you shall soon come to know. 4 Nay, would that ye knew (now) with a sure knowledge! 5 For ye will behold hell-fire. 6 You would see it with the eye of certainty. 7 Then, on that Day, you shall be asked about the delight (you indulged in, in this world)! 8

Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
