AND, [likewise,] indeed, the people of Al-Hijr gave the lie to [Our] message-bearers: 80 for We did vouchsafe them Our messages, but they obstinately turned their backs upon them 81 And they used to hew out dwellings from the mountains (feeling themselves) secure. 82 and the Cry seized them in the morning; 83 and whatever they had been earning proved of no avail. 84 We created not the heavens, the earth, and all between them, but for just ends. And the Hour is surely coming (when this will be manifest). So overlook (any human faults) with gracious forgiveness. 85 For verily it is thy Lord who is the Master-Creator, knowing all things. 86 And We have bestowed upon thee the Seven Oft-repeated (verses) and the Grand Qur'an. 87 So covet not things We have bestowed on a portion of them to enjoy, and do not grieve for them, and protect those who believe; 88 And say: Surely I am the plain warner. 89 So We sent it down to the partitioners, 90 Those who break the Qur'an into parts. 91 So, by your Lord, We would most certainly question them all, 92 concerning that they were doing. 93 Then declare what you are commanded and turn away from the polytheists. 94 Indeed We suffice you against these mockers. 95 Who place other gods besides God. They will come to know soon. 96 And indeed We know that you are disheartened by their speech. 97 Exalt with the praise of your Lord and be one of those who prostrate. 98 And keep worshipping your Lord, till death* comes to you. (* The certainty.) 99
