The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Event (the resurrection) comes 1 There is about its happening no lie. 2 some shall be abased and others exalted. 3 When the earth will tremble, shivering. 4 The mountains bruised and crushed, 5 Turned to dust, floating in the air, 6 [on that Day,] then, shall you be [divided into] three kinds. 7 The people of the right hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their right hands. How happy they will be! 8 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 9 And the preceders are the preceders. 10 those are they brought near (to their Lord) 11 In Gardens of Bliss: 12 Many of them will be from the ancient people 13 And a few of the later peoples, 14 [They will be seated] on gold-encrusted thrones of happiness, 15 facing one another. 16 immortal youths going round about them 17 with goblets and ewers and a cup filled with a drink drawn from a running spring, 18 by which their minds will not be clouded and which will not make them drunk; 19 And fruits that they may like. 20 and with the flesh of any fowl that they may desire to eat; 21 And (there are) fair ones with wide, lovely eyes, 22 like unto pearls [still] hidden in their shells. 23 A reward for what they used to do. 24 There hear they no vain speaking nor recrimination 25 Only a saying: "Peace, peace." 26 NOW AS FOR those who have attained to righteousness - what of those who have attained to righteousness? 27 They shall recline on high amidst lote trees without thorns 28 And acacia covered with heaps of bloom, 29 And a shade ever-spread. 30 and outpoured waters, 31 and fruits in abundance, 32 Whose season is not limited, nor (supply) forbidden, 33 And raised couches. 34 Perfectly We formed them, perfect, 35 and made them virgins, 36 chastely amorous, 37 For those on the right. 38
