In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
You, who have wrapped yourself up with a mantle, 1 Rise to pray in the night except a little, 2 It may be half the night or a little less than that 3 Or add to it, and recite the Quran as it ought to be recited. 4 For we shall charge thee with a word of weight. 5 [and,] verily, the hours of night impress the mind most strongly and speak with the clearest voice, 6 You have by day prolonged occupations [with Dawah work]. 7 And remember the name of your Lord and, leaving others, devote yourself solely to Him. 8 (He is) Lord of the East and the West: there is no god but He: take Him therefore for (thy) Disposer of Affairs. 9 And patiently endure upon what the disbelievers say, and leave them for good. 10 Leave the prosperous disbelievers to Me and give them respite for a little while; 11 We have in store for them heavy fetters and a blazing Fire, 12 and food that chokes, and a painful chastisement, 13 On the Day when the earth with all its mountains quake and the mountains become heaps of shifting sand. 14 We have sent you a Messenger, who will witness your deeds, just as We sent a Messenger to the Pharaoh. 15 and Pharaoh rebelled against the apostle, whereupon We took him to task with a crushing grip. 16 Then how can you avoid the punishment, if you disbelieve, on a Day that will make the children grey-headed (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)? 17 The heaven will break apart therefrom; ever is His promise fulfilled. 18 This, surely, is an admonition. So let him who will, take the right path to his Lord. 19
