Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 For what sin she was killed 9 And when the pages are made public 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 Where then are you going? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
True are the words of God the Almighty.
