The chiefs of the people of Fir'awn said: verily this is a magician knowing. 109 He would drive you forth from your land; so what is it that ye enjoin? 110 They said: put him and his brother off, and send unto the cities callers. 111 That they may bring to thee every magician knowing. 112 And the sorcerers came to Pharaoh, saying, 'We shall surely have a wage, if we should be the victors?' 113 He answered: Yes, and surely ye shall be of those brought near (to me). 114 They said: "O Musa (Moses)! Either you throw (first), or shall we have the (first) throw?" 115 Moses said: 'You throw.' So when they threw [their rods], they enchanted the eyes of the people, and struck them with awe, and produced a mighty sorcery. 116 And we revealed unto Musa: cast down thy rod. And lo! it was swallowing up that which they had feigned. 117 ۞ Thus the truth prevailed and what they had produced came to nothing: 118 And thus were they vanquished there and then, and became utterly humiliated. 119 The sorcerers fell to the ground in homage, 120 They said, “We have accepted faith in the Lord Of The Creation.” 121 "The Lord of Moses and Aaron." 122 The Pharaoh said to the magicians, "You declared your belief in him (Moses) without my permission. This is a plot to throw my people out of their city. But you will soon know. 123 “I swear I will cut off your hands and your feet from alternate sides and then crucify you all.” 124 They replied: 'We shall surely return to our Lord. 125 for thou takest vengeance on us only because we have come to believe in our Sustainer's messages as soon as they came to us. O our Sustainer! Shower us with patience in adversity, and make us die as men who have surrendered themselves unto Thee!" 126
