The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord, and it must needs (do so);- 2 when the earth flattens out, 3 and casts out all that is within and voids itself, 4 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 And as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, 7 shall be called to an easy accounting, 8 And will return unto his folk in joy. 9 But as for him whose record shall be given to him behind his back; 10 He will invoke (his) destruction, 11 And will go into the blazing fire. 12 Surely he was (erstwhile) joyful among his followers. 13 and surely thought he would never return (to his Lord). 14 Yea! his Lord had ever been beholding him. 15 I do not need to swear by the sunset, 16 And by the night and that which it driveth together, 17 by the moon, in its fullness 18 you shall proceed onwards from stage to stage. 19 What aileth them, then, that they believe not 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 In fact, they reject the Quran, 22 And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds), 23 (Muhammad), tell them that they will all suffer a painful torment 24 Save those who believe and do good works, for theirs is a reward unfailing. 25
