The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account). 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 then he mustered 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). 26
