The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 when the savage beasts shall be mustered, 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open; 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 The rising dawn, 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 So where are you going? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
