Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 On that day (many) faces will be downcast, 2 Labouring, striving hard. 3 (Yet) Going into the blazing fire. 4 Made to drink from a boiling spring. 5 They will have no food except bitter thorn, 6 unfattening, unappeasing hunger. 7 In that day other faces will be calm, 8 Rejoicing over their efforts. 9 in a Garden on high, 10 hearing there no babble; 11 A gushing fountain shall be there 12 raised couches, 13 And drinking-cups ready placed, 14 And cushions ranged 15 and carpets outspread. 16 What, do they not reflect upon how the camel was created? 17 And the heavens, how it was raised high; 18 And the mountains: how they were fixed? 19 And how the earth was outstretched? 20 Admonish thou then; thou art but an admonisher. 21 Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs. 22 Other than him who turns his back and denies, 23 Allah will punish him with direst punishment. 24 Surely to Us is their turning back, 25 Then indeed, upon Us is their account. 26
