The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER the night as it veils [the earth] in darkness, 1 By the day when it appeareth in glory, 2 and by Him Who created the male and the female: 3 Lo! your effort is dispersed (toward divers ends). 4 As for he who gives and fears Allah 5 And accepts the best, 6 We shall surely ease him to the Easing. 7 But for those who are niggardly, horde their wealth, 8 And who belieth the Good, 9 We shall pave his way to hardship, 10 His wealth will not avail him when he falls into ruin. 11 Indeed, Guidance is Ours, 12 and to Us belong the hereafter and the worldly life. 13 Wherefore I have warned you of Fire flaming, 14 None shall enter it but the most unhappy, 15 Who denies and turns away. 16 But the righteous one will avoid it - 17 Who giveth away his substance that he may be cleansed, 18 And have in his mind no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return, 19 except the pleasure of their Lord, the Most High 20 and he shall surely be satisfied. 21
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
