The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By oath of the night when it covers 1 And the day when it shines in brightness, 2 and by that (Power) which created the male and female, 3 Verily, (the ends) ye strive for are diverse. 4 Then as for him who gives away and guards (against evil), 5 And affirms goodness, 6 We shall surely ease him to the Easing. 7 And as for him who stinteth and is heedless, 8 And disbelieveth in goodness; 9 We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Misery; 10 And what will his wealth benefit him when he goes down (in destruction). 11 Verily We take upon Ourselves to guide, 12 And to Us belong the End and the Beginning. 13 Wherefore I have warned you of Fire flaming, 14 None shall roast therein but the most wretched, 15 who have rejected the (Truth) and have turned away from it. 16 But the righteous one will avoid it - 17 Who gives away his wealth, purifying himself 18 not as payment for any favours that he received, 19 Except the seeking of the pleasure of his Lord, the Most High. 20 surely, he shall be satisfied. 21
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
