Truly it is the revelation of the Lord of all Being, 192 brought down by the Faithful Spirit 193 Upon thy heart, that thou mayst be (one) of the warners, 194 In the plain Arabic language. 195 And lo! it is in the Scriptures of the men of old. 196 Is it not a sign to them that the learned scholars (like 'Abdullah bin Salam who embraced Islam) of the Children of Israel knew it (as true)? 197 And if We had revealed it unto one of any other nation than the Arabs, 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 In this wise have We made way for it into the hearts of the culprits. 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful torment; 201 But when it comes upon them suddenly, taking them unawares, 202 and then they will say: 'Shall we be respited' 203 Do they wish Us then to hasten the punishment? 204 What do you see? If We gave them enjoyment for years, 205 Then there comes to them that with which they are threatened, 206 Of what avail shall their enjoyment be to them? 207 We never destroyed a village that did not have warners 208 To advise; and We never oppress. 209 The satans have not revealed the Quran; 210 it is not for them, nor are they able. 211 verily, [even] from hearing it are they utterly debarred! 212 Hence, [O man,] do not invoke any other deity side by side with God, lest thou find thyself among those who are made to suffer [on Judgment Day]. 213 And warn your tribe (O Muhammad SAW) of near kindred. 214 And lower thy wing to the Believers who follow thee. 215 And if they disobey you, then say, "Indeed, I am disassociated from what you are doing." 216 Have trust in the Majestic and All-merciful God, 217 Who observes you when you rise (to pray) 218 And watches your movements among those who prostrate in prayer. 219 Surely, He is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 Shall I tell you on whom the satans descend? 221 They descend upon every calumniator, sinner. 222 Who gives ear (to the devils and they pour what they may have heard of the unseen from the angels), and most of them are liars. 223 As for the poets - it is the seduced who follow them. 224 Have you not seen that they wander distract in every valley, 225 And how they say that which they do not? 226 Except those who believe and do the right, and remember God a great deal, who retaliate only when they have been wronged. Yet the oppressors will now come to know through what reversals they will be overthrown! 227
