Has the story reached thee, of the honoured guests of Abraham? 24 When they entered upon him, they said: Peace. Peace, said he, a strange people. 25 Then he went to his home – so he brought a healthy calf. 26 and laid it before them, saying: “Will you not eat?” 27 Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: Fear not! and gave him tidings of (the birth of) a wise son. 28 Thereupon his wife approached [the guests] with a loud cry, and struck her face [in astonishment] and exclaimed: "A barren old woman [like me]!" 29 They answered: "Thus has thy Sustainer decreed; and verily, He alone is truly wise, all-knowing!" 30 ۞ Abraham said: “Envoys (of Allah), what is your errand?” 31 They said, "Indeed, we have been sent to a people of criminals 32 so that we may bring down upon them a shower of stones of clay, 33 Marked by your Lord for the Musrifun (polytheists, criminals, sinners those who trespass Allah's set limits in evil-doings by committing great sins). 34 Then We brought forth such as were therein of the believers. 35 But We found in it only one household of those who had surrendered themselves, 36 And We left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment. 37 There is also evidence (of the Truth) in the story of Moses when We sent him to the Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 Then he turned away with his court, and said: a magician or a madman. 39 So We took him and his hosts, and dumped them into the sea, while he was to be blamed. 40 And also in Ad, when We loosed against them the withering wind 41 It left out nothing in its path, but which it split up into fragments. 42 And in Thamud's also was a lesson, when it was said unto them: enjoy yourselves for a season. 43 Then they turned in disdain from the commandment of their Lord, and the thunderbolt took them and they themselves beholding 44 So they were neither able to stand up, nor were they able to take revenge. 45 And the people of Nuh before, surely they were a transgressing people. 46
