The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the inevitable event takes place, 1 There is no denying that it will befall - 2 Degrading (some) and exalting (others); 3 When the earth shall be shaken to its depths, 4 and the mountains crumbled, 5 they will become like dust scattered around. 6 And ye are classes three. 7 Companions of the Right, what are the Companions of the Right? 8 Those on the Left -- how unlucky are those on the Left! 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 those are they brought near (to their Lord) 11 in the beautiful Paradise. 12 A throng of the ancients, 13 And a few from those of later times. 14 On couches wrought of gold, 15 reclining on them, arrayed face to face; 16 immortal youths going round about them 17 With goblets and ewers and a cup of limpid drink. 18 Whereby there shall be neither headiness nor will they be inebriated. 19 they will also go about them with the fruits of which they may choose, 20 Bird meats that they relish, 21 And [with them will be their] companions pure, most beautiful of eye, 22 Like pearls safely hidden. 23 A Reward for the deeds of their past (life). 24 They will not hear any unnecessary or sinful talk 25 (Naught) but the saying: Peace, (and again) Peace. 26 Those on the Right, how fortunate are those on the Right! 27 Among thorn-less lote-trees. 28 and serried acacias, 29 And in everlasting shade. 30 and outpoured waters, 31 And fruit in abundance. 32 Whose season is not limited, and their supply will not be cut off, 33 And exalted thrones. 34 Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation 35 And made them virgins. 36 chastely amorous, 37 For those of the right hand. 38
