The dead land is a sign for them. We revive it, and from it produce grain from which they eat. 33 And We have placed in it gardens of dates and grapes, and We have made springs of water in it. 34 so that they may consume the fruits and whatever their hands prepare. Will they not then be grateful? 35 Glory be to Him Who created pairs of all things, of what the earth grows, and of their kind and of what they do not know. 36 And a sign to them is the night: We draw forth from it the day, then lo! they are in the dark; 37 And the sun -- it runs to a fixed resting-place; that is the ordaining of the All-mighty, the All-knowing. 38 how We ordained the moon to pass through certain phases until it seems eventually to be like a bent twig; 39 [and] neither may the sun overtake the moon, nor can the night usurp the time of day, since all of them float through space [in accordance with Our laws]. 40 And a sign for them is that We lodged them in a laden ship, while they were in their forefathers backs. 41 And We have created for them of the like thereunto, so on them they ride. 42 And if We will, We drown them, and there is no help for them, neither can they be saved; 43 Except by way of Mercy from Us, and by way of (world) convenience (to serve them) for a time. 44 When they are told, "guard yourselves against what is before you and what is behind you, in order that you may be shown mercy," [they turn away]. 45 and no message of their Sustainer's messages ever reaches them without their turning away from it. 46 And when it is said unto them: expend of that wherewith Allah hath provided you, those who disbelieve say unto those who believe: shall we feed those whom God Himself would have fed, if He listed? Ye are in naught else than error manifest. 47 And they say: When will this threat come to pass, if you are truthful? 48 They are awaiting only for one Cry to seize them while they are yet disputing, 49 And they will not be able to make a disposition, nor to their family they return. 50
