The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The Most Merciful 1 Hath taught the Qur'an. 2 He created man, 3 And taught him to express clearly. 4 The sun and the moon run on their fixed courses (exactly) calculated with measured out stages for each (for reckoning, etc.). 5 And the grasses and the trees bow (to Him) in adoration. 6 He raised the heavens and set up the measure, 7 That you may not be inordinate in respect of the measure. 8 So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance. 9 He has laid out the earth for His creatures. 10 In which are fruits, and covered dates. 11 Grain with husk, and fragrant grasses. 12 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 13 He has created man from dry, rotten clay like the potter's, 14 and He created the jinn from smokeless fire. 15 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 16 [He is] the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunrise, and the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunset. 17 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 18 He released the two seas, meeting [side by side]; 19 Between them is a barrier, which they do not overrun. 20 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 21 Pearls and coral-stone come forth from them. 22 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 23 His are the ships displayed upon the sea, like banners. 24 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 25
