The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the mount 1 And [by] a Book inscribed 2 In a Scroll unfolded; 3 The house ever-peopled, 4 The roof raised high, 5 and the sea that is full 6 VERILY, [O man,] the suffering decreed by thy Sustainer [for the sinners] will indeed come to pass: 7 There is none who could avert it. 8 Upon the day when heaven spins dizzily 9 And the mountains shall pass away passing away (altogether). 10 So on that day, ruin is for those who deny. 11 Who play in talk of grave matters; 12 On the Day when they shall be thrust into Hell with a violent thrust (and shall be told): 13 "This:, it will be said, "Is the Fire,- which ye were wont to deny! 14 Is it magic then or do you not see? 15 Burn in its heat. It is all the same for you whether you exercise patience or not; This is the recompense for your deeds". 16 Lo! those who kept their duty dwell in gardens and delight, 17 rejoicing in all that their Sustainer will have granted them: for their Sustainer will have warded off from them all suffering through the blazing fire. 18 (They will be told): “Eat and drink to your hearts' content as a reward for your deeds.” 19 They will recline (with ease) on thrones arranged in ranks. And We shall marry them to Houris (female, fair ones) with wide lovely eyes. 20 And those who accepted faith, and whose descendants followed them with faith – We have joined their descendants with them, and have not reduced anything for them from their deeds; every soul is trapped in its own deeds. 21 And We shall bestow on them fruit and meat in abundance - whatever they may desire: 22 They will exchange with one another a cup [of wine] wherein [results] no ill speech or commission of sin. 23 ۞ And there will go round on them youths appointed to attend them as though they were pearls hidden. 24 And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other. 25 Saying: Surely we feared before on account of our families: 26 God has been gracious to us and has saved us from the torment of Hell's intense heat -- 27 We used to pray to Him erstwhile; He is the just and merciful. 28
