The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 [And yet,] some say: "What! Are we indeed to be restored to our former state 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 and hastily turned away, 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
