The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open; 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 BUT NAY! I call to witness the revolving stars, 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 and the night that falls, 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 where then are you going? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
