Al-Haaqqah 2 of 2
BUT NAY! I call to witness all that you can see, 38 And by oath of those you do not see. 39 That it is surely the speech brought by messenger honourable. 40 It is not the speech of a poet (little do you believe) 41 nor is it the work of a soothsayer but only a few of you take heed. 42 It is a revelation sent down by the Sustainer of the Universe: 43 Had he invented sayings against Us, 44 We would have caught hold of him by his right hand 45 And then severed his life-artery, 46 Then none among you would be his saviour. 47 And verily, this [Qur'an] is a reminder to all the God-conscious! 48 We know very well that there are some among you who reject Our signs -- 49 and (on the Day of Judgment) this will be a great source of regret for the unbelievers. 50 yet it is a certain truth. 51 So glorify the name of thy Lord Most High. 52

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
