Al-Dukhaan 3 of 3
Indeed, the tree of zaqqum 43 shall be food for the sinners: 44 Like molten copper; it churns in their bellies. 45 Like the boiling of hot water. 46 Seize him, then drag him down into the middle of the hell; 47 "Then pour over his head the torment of boiling water, 48 Taste; you forsooth are the mighty, the honorable: 49 This is what you doubted?" 50 Indeed the pious are in a place of peace. 51 Among Gardens and Springs; 52 Dressed in brocade and shot silk, facing one another. 53 Thus shall it be: and We shall espouse them to fair, wide-eyed maidens. 54 In that [paradise] they shall [rightfully] claim all the fruits [of their past deeds,] resting in security; 55 They will not experience any death other than that which they have already been through. 56 As a Bounty from your Lord! That will be the supreme success! 57 And indeed, We have eased the Qur'an in your tongue that they might be reminded. 58 Wait then (O Muhammad). Lo! they (too) are waiting. 59

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
