Say, [Prophet], "I am only a warner. There is no god but God, the One, the All-Powerful, 65 The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, the Mighty, the most Forgiving. 66 Say: "This is a message tremendous: 67 [how can] you turn away from it?" 68 I have no knowledge of the dispute among the angels (concerning their attitude towards Adam). 69 Only this has been revealed to me that I am a distinct warner. 70 When thy Lord said unto the angels: Lo! I am about to create a mortal out of mire, 71 When I have shaped him, and breathed My spirit in him, fall you down, bowing before him!' 72 Then the angels bowed before him in a body, 73 except Iblis who puffed himself up with pride and became a disbeliever. 74 He said: O Iblis! what prevented you that you should do obeisance to him whom I created with My two hands? Are you proud or are you of the exalted ones? 75 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "I am better than he, You created me from fire, and You created him from clay." 76 He said: Then get out of it, for surely you are driven away: 77 Upon thee shall rest My curse, till the Day of Doom.' 78 But Satan said, "My Lord, grant me respite until the Day of Resurrection," 79 [Allah] said, "So indeed, you are of those reprieved 80 "Till the Day of the time appointed." 81 He (satan) said: 'I swear by Your Might, that I will seduce all of them 82 Save Thy bondmen among them Sincere. 83 The Lord said, "I swear by the Truth - and I speak the Truth - 84 I will certainly fill the Gehenna with you and with all those among them who follow you.” 85 Say, [O Muhammad], "I do not ask you for the Qur'an any payment, and I am not of the pretentious 86 This [divine writ,] behold, is no less than a reminder to all the worlds — 87 And most certainly you will come to know about it after a time. 88
