The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 And by those who float in space, 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
