The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the night enshrouding 1 By the day when it appeareth in glory, 2 Consider the creation of the male and the female! 3 O men, you truly strive towards the most diverse ends! 4 As for he who gives and fears Allah 5 And testifieth to the Good, 6 We shall surely ease him to the Easing. 7 And for him who hoarded wealth and remained carefree, 8 And who belieth the Good, 9 We will facilitate for him the difficult end. 10 His riches will not save him when he perisheth. 11 It is indeed for Us to show the way, 12 and to Us belongs the Hereafter as well as the present world -- 13 and so I warn you of the raging fire 14 [the fire] which none shall have to endure but that most hapless wretch 15 Who give the lie to Truth and turn their backs. 16 The pious ones will be safe from this fire 17 [He] who gives [from] his wealth to purify himself 18 And have in their minds no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return, 19 only seeking the Face of his Lord the Most High; 20 and before long he will be well satisfied. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
