Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 Does man imagine that We will not be able to bring his bones together again? 3 Yes indeed; We are able to shape again his fingers. 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 'When will the Day of Resurrection be' he asks, 6 So when vision is dazzled 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 No! There is no refuge! 11 For on that Day the refuge shall be to your Lord. 12 That Day will Man be told (all) that he put forward, and all that he put back. 13 Oh, but man is a telling witness against himself, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 Looking at their Lord. 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them; 25 Nay, when (the soul) reaches to the collar bone (i.e. up to the throat in its exit), 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 And he (the dying person) will conclude that it was (the time) of departing (death); 28 And the leg is wound about the leg, 29 The drive will be, on that Day, to your Lord (Allah)! 30
