The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the heaven breaks apart. 1 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should; 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 and throws out of itself all that it contains 4 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 5 O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: 6 Then he who is given his Record in his right hand, 7 he will in time be called to account with an easy accounting, 8 And will return to his family in joy! 9 But as for he who is given his record behind his back, 10 He surely will invoke destruction 11 but he will enter the blazing flame. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 Yes indeed, his Lord was ever watching him. 15 But nay! I swear by the sunset redness, 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 And by the moon when she becometh full. 18 you will progress from stage to stage. 19 What is wrong with them that they do not believe? 20 and when the Koran is recited to them that they do not prostrate! ۩ 21 Nay, but the unbelievers are crying lies, 22 Allah knows best what they are accumulating (in their Record). 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted. 25
