Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Alif-Lam-Meem. (Alphabets of the Arabic language – Allah, and to whomever He reveals, know their precise meanings.) 1 Those are the verses of the Wise Book, 2 providing guidance and grace unto the doers of good 3 Who establish prayer and give zakah, and they, of the Hereafter, are certain [in faith]. 4 These are on guidance from their Lord, and these! they are the blissful ones. 5 But among men there are some who spend their time in idle diversions only to lead people astray from the path of God, and without knowledge, hold it up to ridicule: for such there is a humiliating punishment in store. 6 And when Our verses are recited to him he haughtily turns away as if he did not hear them – as if there is deafness in his ears; so give him the glad tidings of a painful punishment. 7 Verily, those who believe (in Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, for them are Gardens of delight (Paradise). 8 In which they will abide; it is a true promise of Allah; and only He is the Almighty, the Wise. 9 He has created the heavens without any pillars, that you see and has set on the earth firm mountains, lest it should shake with you. And He has scattered therein moving (living) creatures of all kinds. And We send down water (rain) from the sky, and We cause (plants) of every goodly kind to grow therein. 10 this is God's creation. Show me then what those besides Him have created! The wrongdoers are in manifest error. 11
