The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Triumphant indeed are the believers, 1 Those who in their prayer are lowly. 2 Who shun all frivolities, 3 who give charity, 4 Who guard their sex 5 [not giving way to their desires] with any but their spouses - that is, those whom they rightfully possess [through wedlock]: for then, behold, they are free of all blame, 6 But whoever seeks to go beyond that, these are they that exceed the limits; 7 Those who are faithfully true to their Amanat (all the duties which Allah has ordained, honesty, moral responsibility and trusts etc.) and to their covenants; 8 And those who keep a guard on their prayers; 9 They are the inheritors. 10 Who will inherit Paradise: they will dwell therein (for ever). 11 NOW, INDEED, We create man out of the essence of clay, 12 Then We placed him as a sperm-drop in a firm lodging. 13 Then We made the Nutfah into a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood), then We made the clot into a little lump of flesh, then We made out of that little lump of flesh bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then We brought it forth as another creation. So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators. 14 Then lo! after that ye surely die. 15 Then lo! on the Day of Resurrection ye are raised (again). 16 And We have created above you seven layered heavens, and never have We been of [Our] creation unaware. 17 And We sent down water from the sky in proper measure, then stored it in the earth; and indeed We are Able to take it away! 18 Then We produce for you therewith gardens of date-palms and grapes, wherein is much fruit for you and whereof ye eat; 19 as well as a tree that issues from [the lands adjoining] Mount Sinai, yielding oil and relish for all to eat. 20 And surely in the cattle there is a lesson for you; We give you to drink of what is in their bellies, and many uses there are in them for you, and of them you eat; 21 And on them and on the ships you are borne. 22
