In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force! 2 and raise (clouds) and scatter them around, 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 excusing or warning, 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 When the stars are obliterated, 8 The heavens split asunder, 9 when the mountains shall be scattered 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 for what Day has this been appointed? 12 The Day of Judgement. 13 And what will explain to you what is the Day of sorting out? 14 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 15 Have We not destroyed the earlier generations? 16 We shall then send the latter after them. 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 And We placed it in a firm lodging 21 until an appointed time? 22 Thus have We determined [the nature of man's creation]: and excellent indeed is Our power to determine [what is to be]! 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, 25 The living and the dead, 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 The fire will shoot out sparks as big as huge towers 32 and yellow camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 On that Day they will be speechless, 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together. 38 if you have a trick, try you now to trick Me!' 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40
