The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 By the angels hastening, 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
