Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, 2 Then by oath of those that lift and carry. 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 excusing or warning, 6 What is promised will surely come to pass. 7 Then the stars will lose their light. 8 And when the sky is split apart. 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 one will be told, "To the Day of Distinction". 13 And what do you know, what the Day of Decision is! 14 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients? 16 We shall then send the latter after them. 17 This is how We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 Then We lodged you in a secure place (the womb) 21 for an appointed term? 22 And We determined [it], and excellent [are We] to determine. 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Have We not caused the earth to hold within itself 25 for the living and the dead? 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 Surely it sends up sparks like palaces, 32 Seeming like yellow camels. 33 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses. 36 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 37 That will be the Day of Reckoning. Gathered will be (you) and the earlier (generations). 38 If now you have any strategy, use it against Me. 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
