The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 then he mustered 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. 26
