Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Perish the two hands of Abu Lahab (an uncle of the Prophet), and perish he! 1 No profit to him from all his wealth, and all his gains! 2 He will be plunged in flaming Fire, 3 And so will his wife; carrying a bundle of firewood on her head. 4 A rope made from palm fibre around her neck! 5

True are the words of God the Almighty.
