1/2 Hizb 33

۞ And We had certainly given Abraham his sound judgement before, and We were of him well-Knowing 51 When he said to his father and his people: "What are these idols to which you cling so passionately?" 52 They said, 'We found our fathers serving them.' 53 He said: "Certainly you and your fathers have all been in manifest error." 54 They asked: "Hast thou come unto us [with this claim] in all earnest - or art thou one of those jesters?" 55 He said, "Your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth. It was He who created them and I testify to this fact". 56 By Allah, I shall certainly carry out my plan against your gods after you are gone." 57 He broke all the idols into pieces, except the biggest among them so that perhaps people would refer to it. 58 They said: "Who has done this to our aliha (gods)? He must indeed be one of the wrong-doers." 59 Some of them said, "We heard a youth called Abraham speaking against the idols". 60 They said, "Then bring him before the eyes of the people that they may testify." 61 [And when he came.] they asked: "Hast thou done this to our gods, O Abraham?" 62 He said: Surely (some doer) has done it; the chief of them is this, therefore ask them, if they can speak. 63 So they returned one to another, and they said, 'Surely it is you who are the evildoers.' 64 But then they relapsed into their former way of thinking and said: "Thou knowest very well that these [idols] cannot speak!" 65 (Abraham) said, "Do ye then worship, besides Allah, things that can neither be of any good to you nor do you harm? 66 "Fie upon you, and upon that which you worship besides Allah! Have you then no sense?" 67 They said, "Burn him and protect your gods, If ye do (anything at all)!" 68 We said: O fire! be a comfort and peace to Ibrahim; 69 And they intended for him harm, but We made them the greatest losers. 70 and We delivered him, and Lot, unto the land that We had blessed for all beings. 71 And We gave him Isaac and Jacob in superfluity, and every one made We righteous 72 and appointed them to be leaders guiding by Our command, and We revealed to them the doing of good deeds, and to perform the prayer, and to pay the alms, and Us they served. 73 To Lot, We gave judgment and knowledge and saved him from the village that had been committing corrupt deeds; for they were an evil nation and were debauched. 74 whereas him We admitted unto Our grace: for, behold, he was among the righteous. 75
