Hizb 46
< random >
And, verily, Yunus (Jonah) was one of the Messengers. 139 When he fled unto the laden ship, 140 And then drew lots and was of those rejected; 141 So the fish swallowed him while he did that for which he blamed himself 142 Had it not been that he (repented and) glorified Allah, 143 He would have tarried in the belly thereof till the Day when they are raised. 144 ۞ but We cast him upon the wilderness, and he was sick, 145 and We caused a pumpkin tree to grow over him. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand (folk) or more 147 and they believed in him: so We let them live in ease for a while. 148 (Muhammad), ask them, "Do daughters belong to your Lord and sons to them? 149 Have We created the angels as females before their very eyes? 150 No indeed! It is one of their fabrications when they say: 151 'God has begotten a son.' They are certainly liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters in preference to sons? 153 What is the matter with you? How judge ye? 154 Why do you not reflect? 155 Or is there for you a plain authority? 156 Produce, then, that divine writ of yours, if you are speaking the truth! 157 And they have invented a blood-relationship between Him and the Jinns: but the Jinns know (quite well) that they have indeed to appear (before his Judgment-Seat)! 158 Exalted is Allah above what they describe, 159 Not (so do) the Servants of Allah, sincere and devoted. 160 neither you nor what you worship 161 can cause anyone to fall prey to your temptation 162 except those who are doomed to enter hell. 163 Of us there is none but hath a station assigned. 164 Verily we range ourselves in rows (as humble servants) 165 and we glorify God". 166 And indeed they (Arab pagans) used to say; 167 “If we had some advice from the earlier generations,” 168 then were we God's sincere servants.' 169 And yet, [now that this divine writ has been placed before them,] they refuse to acknowledge it as true! In time, however, they will come to know [what it was that they had rejected]: 170 And indeed Our Word has already gone forth for Our bondmen who were sent. 171 will certainly be victorious 172 and that Our hosts shall triumph. 173 Therefore turn away from them till a time, 174 And watch, for they will (soon) see. 175 Our torment seek they to hasten on! 176 Then when it descendeth unto them face to face, a hapless morn that shall be for those who were warned. 177 So turn away from them for a time 178 and see; and they too shall soon see. 179 Exalted be your Lord, the Lord of Glory, above what they attribute to Him, 180 And peace upon the messengers. 181 It is only God, the Lord of the Universe, who deserves all praise. 182
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
