The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is overthrown, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 And when souls are united, 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 and the night that falls, 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 When whither go ye? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
