The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the heaven and the comer by night; 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 And I am plotting a plot. 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
