Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And I do call to witness the self-reproaching spirit: (Eschew Evil). 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 Yet man wants to deny what is ahead of him: 5 He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 But when the sight is dazed 7 And the moon will be eclipsed. 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 on that Day man will ask, "Where can I escape?" 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 With thy Sustainer, on that Day, the journey's end will be! 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 In fact, man himself is keeping an eye on his state of affairs! 14 Even though he were to put up his excuses. 15 [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation: 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation. 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 Looking to their Lord. 23 And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 By no means! When it cometh up to the collar-bone. 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 And he knoweth that it is the parting; 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
