S (Saad)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Sad. By the Qur'an containing reminder... 1 But nay - they who are bent on denying the truth are lost in [false] pride, and [hence] deeply in the wrong. 2 How many a generation We destroyed before them, and they called, but time was none to escape. 3 And they were surprised that a Herald of Warning came to them from among themselves; and the disbelievers said, “He is a magician, a great liar!” 4 “Has he made all the Gods into One God? This is really something very strange!” 5 And the eminent among them went forth, [saying], "Continue, and be patient over [the defense of] your gods. Indeed, this is a thing intended. 6 We never heard of this in the former faith; this is nothing but a forgery: 7 What, has the Remembrance been sent down on him out of us all?' Nay, but they are in doubt of My Remembrance; nay, they have not yet tasted My chastisement. 8 Do they possess the treasures of the mercy of your Lord, the Mighty, the Great Bestower? 9 Or have they the dominion of the heavens and the earth and all between? If so, let them mount up with the ropes and means (to reach that end)! 10 Here there is a host of the confederates only to be defeated. 11 To the truth gave the lie aforetime Noah's people, and [the tribe of] Ad, and Pharaoh of the [many] tent-poles, 12 And the Thamud, and the people of Lut, and the dwellers of the wood; these were the confederates. 13 There was not one of those that did not belie the Messengers. Therefore, My retribution was realized. 14
