Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Alif Lam Mim. 1 These are the verses of the Wise Book, 2 providing guidance and grace unto the doers of good 3 who perform the prayer, and pay the alms, and have sure faith in the Hereafter. 4 Such have guidance from their Lord. Such are the successful. 5 But among men are also those who spread frivolous stories to mislead (others) from the way of God, without any knowledge, and take it lightly. For such as these the nemesis will be shameful. 6 And when Our Verses (of the Quran) are recited to such a one, he turns away in pride, as if he heard them not, as if there were deafness in his ear. So announce to him a painful torment. 7 (As for) those who believe and do good, they shall surely have gardens of bliss, 8 where they shall live for ever. The promise of Allah is the truth; He is the Almighty, the Wise. 9 He has created the skies without any support that you could see, and has placed firm mountains upon the earth, lest it sway with you, and has caused all manner of living creatures to multiply thereon. And We sent down water from the skies, and thus We made every kind of excellent plant grow there: 10 This is the creation of Allah. So show Me that which those (whom you worship), besides Him have created. Nay, the Zalimun (polytheists, wrong-doers and those who do not believe in the Oneness of Allah) are in plain error. 11
