The Moon (Al-Qamar)
55 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Comet (Al-Taareq) before S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
The Hour (of Judgment) is nigh, and the moon is cleft asunder. 1 But if they see a sign they turn away, and say: "This is the same old lie continuing," 2 And they belied, and they followed their lusts; and every affair cometh to a final goal. 3 Messages deterring them from evil had come to them, 4 The pinnacle of wisdom – so how will the Heralds of warning provide any benefit? 5 So withdraw from them (O Muhammad) on the day when the Summoner summoneth unto a painful thing. 6 abasing their eyes, they shall come forth from the tombs as if they were scattered grasshoppers, 7 running in confusion towards the Summoning Voice; [and] those who [now] deny the truth will exclaim, "Calamitous is this Day!" 8 ۞ [LONG] BEFORE those [who now deny resurrection] did Noah's people call it a lie; and they gave the lie to Our servant and said, "Mad is he!" - and he was repulsed. 9 Then he invoked his Lord (saying): "I have been overcome, so help (me)!" 10 Then We opened the gates of heaven unto water torrential, 11 and caused the earth to burst forth with springs, so that the waters met for a purpose pre-ordained: 12 And We carried him upon a thing of planks and nails, 13 Sailing in front of Our sight; as a reward for the sake of one who was rejected. 14 And certainly We left it as a sign, but is there anyone who 15 How was then My punishment and My commination! 16 We have made the Koran easy to remember, is there any that will remember! 17 The people of `Ad rejected Our guidance. How terrible was My torment and the result (of their disregard) of My warning. 18 For We sent against them a furious wind, on a Day of violent Disaster, 19 it swept the people away as though they were palm-trunks uprooted: 20 Yea, how (terrible) was My Penalty and My Warning! 21 Easy have We made the Qur'an to understand: So is there any one who will pay heed? 22

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
