The Ant (Al-Naml)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Ta-Sin. These are the verses of the Qur'an and a Book luminous. 1 a guidance and a glad tiding to the believers 2 Who establish the prayer and give the poor-rate, and of the Hereafter they are convinced. 3 Those who do not believe in the Hereafter – We have made their deeds seem good to them, so they are astray. 4 those are they whom an evil chastisement awaits, and they will be the greatest losers in the Hereafter. 5 And indeed, [O Muhammad], you receive the Qur'an from one Wise and Knowing. 6 When Moses said to his household: 'Indeed, I can see a fire far away. I will go and bring you news of it or I will bring you a lighted flame so that you can warm yourselves' 7 So when he came to it a voice was uttered saying: Blessed is Whoever is in the fire and whatever is about it; and glory be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds; 8 Moses, behold, it is I, God, the All-mighty, the All-wise. 9 Throw down your staff." But when he saw it moving like a snake, he turned and fled. "Moses, do not be afraid! The messengers need have no fear in My presence; 10 Except those who do some wrong but afterwards do good to make up for the wrong. And I am forgiving and merciful. 11 Now put your hand inside your cloak next to your bosom and it will come out [shining] white, without any blemish. This will be one of the nine signs for Pharaoh and his people: for truly they are a rebellious people." 12 But when Our light-giving messages came unto them, they said, "This is clearly [but] spellbinding deception!" 13 They rejected the evidence because of their arrogance and injustice, although their souls knew it to be true. Think how terrible the end of the sinful ones was! 14
