Aaron had indeed told them earlier: "O my people, you are being only misled with this. Surely your Lord is Ar-Rahman. So follow me and obey my command." 90 They said, "We shall continue worshipping the calf until Moses comes back." 91 [Moses] said, "O Aaron, what prevented you, when you saw them going astray, 92 That thou followedst me not? Hast thou then disobeyed my order? 93 Harun said: O my mother's son! hold me not by my beard nor by my head, verily I feared that thou wouldst say, thou hast caused a division among the Children of Israel and hast not guarded my word. 94 Moses asked, "Samiri, what were your motives?" 95 He answered: "I saw what the people did not see. So I took a handful of dust from the trail of the Messenger, and I flung it (into the fire). Thus did my mind prompt me." 96 'Begone! Your lot in this life is to cry: "untouchable!' said he (Moses). 'An appointment awaits you that you cannot fail to keep. Look at your god which you clung to indeed we will burn it and scatter its ashes upon the sea' 97 Your Allah is only Allah, than Whom there is no other Allah. He embraceth all things in His knowledge. 98 (O Muhammad), thus do We recount to you the events of the past, and We have bestowed upon you from Ourself an admonition. 99 Whoever disregards (the Quran) will be heavily burdened with sin on the Day of Judgment 100 They will abide in that (state in the Fire of Hell), and evil indeed will it be that load for them on the Day of Resurrection; 101 The Day when the Horn shall be blown. On that Day, We shall assemble all the sinners with blued eyes, 102 Whispering secretly among themselves, “You have not stayed on earth but for ten days.” 103 We know best what they will say, when their leader most eminent in conduct will say: "Ye tarried not longer than a day!" 104
