Moses said: "Lord! Open my breast for me; 25 And make my mission easy. 26 Loosen the knot in my tongue, 27 that they may understand my words. 28 and appoint for me, out of my kinsfolk, one who will help me to bear my burden: 29 Let it be my brother Aaron 30 To strengthen me 31 and associate him with me in my task. 32 That we may sing Your praises much, 33 And may make mention of Thee oft. 34 You are Well Aware of our situation." 35 Said He, 'Thou art granted, Moses, thy petition. 36 And certainly We bestowed on you a favor at another time; 37 "When We inspired your mother with that which We inspired. 38 to lace her child in a chest and throw it into the sea which would hurl it towards the shore. Then an enemy of Mine who was also the enemy of the child would pick it up from there. I made you attractive and loveable so that you would be reared before My own eyes. 39 What time thy sister was walking along and saying: shall I direct you unto one who will take care of him? Thus We returned thee to thy mother that she might cool her eyes and she might not grieve. And thou slewest a person, but We delivered thee from sorrow, and We tried thee with several trials. Then thou tarriedst for years among the people of Madyan then thou camest according to fate, O Musa! 40 And I formed thee for Myself. 41 So go forth, both you and your brother, with My Signs, and do not slacken in remembering Me. 42 Go both of you to Pharaoh, for he has transgressed all bounds, 43 Speak to him with gentle words; perhaps he will ponder or fear' 44 'O our Lord,' said Moses and Aaron, 'truly we fear he may exceed against us, or wax insolent.' 45 [Allah] said, "Fear not. Indeed, I am with you both; I hear and I see. 46 So go to him and say, 'Indeed, we are messengers of your Lord, so send with us the Children of Israel and do not torment them. We have come to you with a sign from your Lord. And peace will be upon he who follows the guidance. 47 Verily we! it hath been revealed unto us that the torment will be for him who belieth and turneth away. 48 (Firon) said: And who is your Lord, O Musa? 49 He said: "Our Lord is He Who gave everything its form and then guided it." 50 He (Pharaoh) asked: 'How was it then, with the former generations' 51 He said: The knowledge thereof is with my Lord in a Record. My Lord neither erreth nor forgetteth, 52 He who appointed the earth to be a cradle for you, and therein threaded roads for you, and sent down water out of heaven, and therewith We have brought forth divers kinds of plants. 53 Eat and pasture your cattle, (therein); verily, in this are proofs and signs for men of understanding. 54
