The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account). 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
