The people of Lut gave the lie to the apostles. 160 When their brother Lut said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 161 I am a trustworthy Messenger. 162 so fear God and obey me. 163 And I ask of you no hire therefor; my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 164 What, do you come to male beings, 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you as mates? But you are a people transgressing." 166 They said: If you desist not, O Lut! you shall surely be of those who are expelled. 167 (Lot) said: "I am disgusted with your actions," 168 Lord, save me and my family from their deeds." 169 So We delivered him and his household all. 170 except for an old woman who stayed behind, 171 Thereafter, We utterly destroyed the rest, 172 and We sent upon them a rain, an evil rain that fell on those who had been warned. 173 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 174 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might Most Merciful. 175
