The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the inevitable event comes, 1 no soul will deny its coming. 2 Degrading (some) and exalting (others); 3 When the earth shall be shaken with a (severe) shaking, 4 and the mountains fragmented 5 and become a dust, scattered, 6 [on that Day,] then, shall you be [divided into] three kinds. 7 So those on the Right Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Records in their right hands), Who will be those on the Right Hand? (As a respect for them, because they will enter Paradise). 8 Companions of the Left, what are the Companions of the Left? 9 And those Foremost (in Faith) will be Foremost (in the Hereafter). 10 those are they brought near (to their Lord) 11 In gardens of delight; 12 a host of the ancients 13 and a lesser number from the later generations. 14 On couches in wrought with gold. 15 Reclining face to face. 16 Youths of never-ending bloom will pass round to them 17 with goblets, and ewers, and cups filled with water from unsullied springs 18 Wherefrom they get no aching of the head nor any madness, 19 And with fruit from that which they choose. 20 and with the flesh of any fowl that they may desire to eat; 21 And wide eyed houris 22 Like pearls safely hidden. 23 A Reward for the deeds of their past (life). 24 There hear they no vain speaking nor recrimination 25 Only a saying: "Peace, peace." 26 And the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! 27 mid thornless lote-trees 28 And [banana] trees layered [with fruit] 29 And shade extended 30 and outpoured waters, 31 And fruit abundant. 32 Unending, unforbidden, 33 And maidens incomparable. 34 We have created (their Companions) of special creation. 35 We have made them virgins, 36 loving companions, matching in age, 37 for the people of the right hand 38
