Then, when the Messengers (the angels) came unto the family of Lout (Lot). 61 he said: "Behold, you are people unknown [here]!" 62 They said, "But we have come to you with that about which they were disputing, 63 and we have come to you with the truth, and surely we are truthful, 64 So set out thou with thy house hold in a portion of the night, and follow thou their backs, and let not one of you look back, and pass whither ye are commanded. 65 And [through Our messengers] We revealed unto him this decree: "The last remnant of those [sinners] shall be wiped out in the morn." 66 And the people of the city came, rejoicing at the news (of new arrivals). 67 Lut said: "These are my guests: disgrace me not: 68 but be conscious of God and disgrace me not!" 69 They replied, "Did we not forbid you to bring anyone to your house?" 70 "Here are my daughters," said Lot, "if you are so active." 71 Verily by your life they were utterly confused in their (lustful) drunkenness. 72 At sunrise a dreadful Shout seized them. 73 And We turned the city upside down, and rained on them stones of hardened lava. 74 Surely, in that there are signs for those who contemplate. 75 surely it is on a way yet remaining; 76 Lo! therein is indeed a portent for believers. 77 And the dwellers in the wood indeed were evil-doers. 78 So, We took vengeance on them. They are both on an open highway, plain to see. 79
